Preparation & Hair Length
The ideal length is 4–6 mm – about as long as a grain of rice. At this length, the sugar paste can optimally grip the hair and cleanly remove the root. Hair that's too short (under 3 mm) slips through, hair that's too long can be trimmed on site.
After the last shave, you should wait about 10–14 days. Hair grows at different speeds, but after two weeks, most have reached the perfect length. When in doubt, wait another day – I can always trim.
A gentle exfoliation 24–48 hours before is great! It removes dead skin cells and frees any ingrown hairs. But please no aggressive scrubbing directly on the appointment day – the skin shouldn't be irritated.
Yes, please come freshly showered. Important: Skip body lotion, oils or creams after showering. The skin should be clean and dry so the sugar paste adheres optimally.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing – preferably cotton. After the treatment, the skin is sensitive, and tight jeans or synthetic fabrics can rub. A flowy dress or loose pants are ideal.
First Session
Yes, the first time can be a bit more intense because the hair roots are still firmly anchored. But don't worry: Most customers are surprised how bearable it is. And the best part: With each treatment it gets less, because the hair grows back finer.
For the first appointment, I plan a little more time – for a brief consultation and so you can relax. A bikini zone takes about 20–30 minutes, full legs about 60–90 minutes. The exact duration depends on the zone and hair density.
Normal. Most first-time sessions are a mix of excitement and nerves. Once you're here, you'll see: The vibe is chill, I explain every step, and you can say 'stop' at any time. After the first time, most wonder why they waited so long.
Usually not necessary, but if you're very sensitive to pain, you can take an ibuprofen 30 minutes beforehand. Please no aspirin – it thins the blood and can lead to minor bleeding.
Special situations
Yes, no problem! For intimate sugaring, just use a tampon. Just note that your skin may be a bit more sensitive during your period. Some customers therefore prefer an appointment a few days after.
Yes, sugaring is perfect for pregnancy! It's 100% natural, chemical-free and especially gentle. Many expecting mothers come regularly until shortly before birth. The only limitation: In the last trimester, the skin may be more sensitive.
Especially with sensitive skin, sugaring is ideal! The sugar paste is hypoallergenic and consists only of sugar, water and lemon. Unlike wax, it doesn't stick to the skin, only to the hair. This means less redness and irritation.
Yes! Sugaring is one of the best methods against ingrown hairs. Since the hair is removed in the direction of growth, it breaks less often. Regular exfoliation between appointments enhances the effect.
After treatment
In the first 24 hours please: no sports, no sauna, no swimming pool, no direct sun. For intimate sugaring, also no sex. The hair follicles are still open and susceptible to bacteria. Wear loose cotton clothing and let the skin breathe.
Light redness is normal and usually disappears within 2–6 hours. With very sensitive skin or the first time, it can last until the next day. Cooling with a clean cloth can help.
For best results, I recommend every 4–5 weeks. This way you catch all hair in the optimal growth cycle. Over time, the hair becomes finer and less – some customers only come every 6–8 weeks after a few months.
Please don't! Shaving interrupts the progress. The hair that's just growing back finer becomes thick and stubbly again. Hang in there – after 3–4 regular sugaring appointments, you'll clearly feel the difference.
